Kimathi Student Dies in Road Accident

We are very sad to report the premature and unfortunate death of Ngomi Kevin, a Kimathi comrade. Kevin was a first year student in Electrical Engineering. His life was cut short by an accident at the conservancy junction along the highway leading to Embassy; where he was hit by a speeding vehicle. The vehicle was a Sienta, according to one eye witness account. May Kevin’s soul rest in peace. Our deepest condolences go to his friends.

There have been 2 more similar incidents in the recent past, with the most recent accident being last semester. The accidents have been attributed to the lack of bumps along crucial sections of the highway. In light of this, there’s a memo circulating on social media asking all students to go block the road at the conservancy.

This week, students from Multimedia University in Nairobi blocked Magadi Road in Rongai. This was in protest to a Multimedia student being hit by a bus in a hit and run incident last week. The bus was impounded but the driver is still at large.

In other news, last night, a student in Kimathi was attacked as he went home through a short cut. The student, who sustained injuries from cuts, was rushed to hospital. We are advised to mind our security by avoiding short cuts and avoiding being out late at night.
