This week on Wednesday – 4th March – motorcades of government vehicles could be seen moving round on the resource side of Kimathi. There was a flurry of activities just outside the main resource center. A Kenya Film Commission banner was set conspicuously at the entrance.
Apparently, the Kenya Film Commission and DeKUT signed a Memorandum of Understanding in which they would collaborate to establish a digital media center in Kimathi. Kenya Film Commission CEO – Timothy Owase was present for the signing of the MOU. Also present was Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga. The proposed digital media center is expected to help the youth come up with digital media products such as films in a bid to help reduce unemployment levels.
